Italian National Espresso Institute
The company is one of the founding members of the Institute chaired by Paolo Nadalet, one of Astoria's Managing Directors. For years, it has hosted a selection stage of the Espresso Italiano Champion competition, during which some of the best Italian baristas challenge one another in coffee making basics.
International Institute of Coffee Tasters
Astoria believes in coffee education and culture; to this end, the partnership with the International Institute of Coffee Tasters plays a essential role. Every year, courses are organized at the corporate office to award Coffee Taster Licenses to participating employees, customers and external candidates.
Astoria supports the Master of Management in Food & Beverage program offered at the SDA Bocconi School of Management. The goal of the program is to train Food & Beverage Managers.
It is an innovative master with an international full-time program taught, among others, by Astoria’s President and SDA Bocconi alumnus, Federico Gallia, who continues to consolidate his bond with the School.
Astoria has made available “merit based” scholarship, a tangible and concrete sign of how much the company believes in the training of talents and of its desire to give its contribution by offering an opportunity for growth and development to a deserving student.
University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo
Astoria has been working for years alongside the Slow Food Foundation and the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo to create a virtuous supply chain, starting with professional machines of high technological level and arriving at good, clean and fair-trade coffee.
The goal is to raise awareness on quality coffee in consumers, as well as promote a virtuous and sustainable management by sector professionals, whose role is to distinguish the intrinsic qualities of coffee through an increasingly careful evaluation of all elements, from water to roasting, from aroma to cup.
During a variety of Slow Food events in which it participated, including Bottiglie Aperte, Terra Madre, Salone del Gusto and Slow Fish, Astoria allowed visitors to experience a real sensorial journey, offering the opportunity to taste espresso unique coffees from several Slow Food Presidia in the world, created by Astoria coffee machines.

In 1999, Astoria brought Sibilla to Host Milano. It was a unique and revolutionary product that marked an era for the company and the coffee machine market. It is precisely with Sibilla that the partnership between Astoria and Adriano Design began. The latter is an award-winning Turin-based firm, established in the international design scene, which continues to partner with Astoria to this day. The latest product yielded by this cooperation is Storm, the coffee machine that officially marks Astoria’s entry debut in the specialty coffee sector.
